Use tattoo goo (the kind sold here) or preparation H to heal your tattoo. Even if something else has worked for you in the past or someone else knows another great method- we still don't recommend it. The following recipe works best with our brands of inks and our artists techniques.

Remove covering 2 - 4 hours after tattoo has been completed. Turn the water on as hot as you can handle it without scalding yourself. Let the hot water run on your tattoo for 2-3 minutes. This will open up your pores. Wash gently with the hot water and a low PH soap (Lever 2000 or antibacterial soap). Do not use any soap containing perfume or deodorant (other than the ones listed above). Once you have all of the soap rinsed off turn the water now to very cold, as cold as you can stand it and let the cold water run on your tattoo for another 2-3 minutes. Pat your tattoo dry. DO NOT RUB WITH TOWEL. This is the only time you should wash your tattoo (other than normal showering) until it is completely healed. You do not need to do the hot/cold water cycle again. When showering do not let the water beat on your fresh tattoo. Do not submerge tattoo until it is fully healed. After showering always pat dry (never wipe) until tattoo is fully healed.

Approximately 1 - 2 days after tattoo has been completed you will notice it starting to get dry. When this happens start applying Tattoo Goo 2 - 3 times daily or whenever tattoo feels dry. How much goo you need will depend on your skin type and the time of year. You will need to be the judge of how often the goo is needed. This will prevent scabbing. DO NOT LET YOUR TATTOO SCAB. If you discover any signs of excessive redness or a rash discontinue use of Tattoo Goo. If this happens please contact us immediately.

Keep tattoo open to the air. Do not bandage unless at risk of getting tattoo dirty. Cover with clean loose clothing. Avoid swimming, soaking and tanning beds for at least 2 weeks. Keep tattoo out of the sun for the first month. Do not pick, rub or scratch tattoos. Do not soak tattoo (you may shower). Any of the above can fade, distort or destroy my artwork.

To prolong the life or your healed tattoo use at least a 30 PABA free sun block when tattoo is exposed to the sun. When swimming apply a thin layer of waterproof sunblock over tattoo to protect your tattoo from the water.
